Central Florida is famous for its almost daily summer rainstorms. Many people ask us after getting their windows cleaned if the rain will ruin youe clean windows? It’s a great question, after a heavy rainstorm you’ve probably seen large water droplets all over your windows. So what’s the deal, will those rain drops ruin your freshly cleaned windows?
The answer this question isn’t a simple yes or no. Most of the time rain falls from the sky pure, meaning it doesn’t hold minerals, or other impurities that could make your glass dirty. When rain falls and gets on your windows it will typically dry spotless.
However this isn’t always the case. Sometimes the rain will fall onto another surface first and then runoff on your windows. This can be a problem and cause dirty water to come into contact with your clean windows.
Another possibility is when heavy rains causes splatters of dirt on low to the ground windows, like those in commercial buildings, or modern style homes.
There are a few ways to make sure your newly cleaned windows stay clean during a rainstorm.
This prevents backup of gutters and spillage onto windows. This also catches rain from the roof and leads it away from your house, so that puddles of water don’t build up causing splatters onto low windows.
Some people install certain turf products, like grass, pebbles / rocks, or mulch to help prevent dirt from splashing onto their windows.
